These are dangerously more ish!
Edamame are usually served with salt flakes but I love these when we are eating with our fingers and I get to lick all of the garlicky chilli yumminess off!
Serve as a side dish or a yummy healthy snack or in a thermos for yummy school lunch treats!
Serves 4.
Ingredients
450g frozen edamame
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 clove of garlic, finely sliced
1/4 teaspoon chilli flakes
1 teaspoon salt
A pinch of sea salt flakes
Method
Bring a large pan of water up to the boil and add the edamame and one teaspoon of salt.
Simmer for 4-5 minutes.
While the edamame cook, heat a small frying pan over a high heat, add the sesame oil and once hot fry the garlic and chilli until very fragrant but not burnt.
Drain the edamame and tip onto your serving dish.
Pour over the hot oil, garlic and chilli.
Sprinkle with sea salt flakes and serve.
Yum! That looks and sounds delicious. I am a big fan of seasoned hot oil over roasted or steamed vegetables. We had cauliflower with garlic caper oil the other night; I will definitely add this to the repertoire as I have a couple of bags of edamame in the freezer.
Thanks Lauralynne, I love seasoned oil too, especially over dhal! 🙂 Ros
yumm looks good! love garlic!
Me too Lynn! 🙂 Ros

Original and tasty looking. Thanks to you, I will never look at edamame with disdain again. x
Oh you truly can’t Sabiscuit! This hot oil dressing makes all the difference! 🙂 Ros
I don’t think I could have these in the house, they look TOO tasty!
That’s why they hide out in the freezer! Glad you like the look of them Burntbutterbakery! 🙂 Ros
I pretty much make the same thing, but I use chili garlic paste and soy sauce. It’s so good! I usually have to stop myself from eating the entire batch. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Soy sauce sounds like a fab addition Leanne, I’ll give it a whirl next time we have edamame! 🙂 Ros
Great idea for a wonderful fingerfood!
Thanks Chris! 🙂 Ros
Interesting! I’ve only ever prepared edamame the traditional way with salt. I’d love to try this out 🙂
Give it a go Elle, these are scrummy! 🙂 Ros
I love edamame but have never spiced it up with anything more than kosher salt and olive oil. This sounds amazing! Will have to try ASAP! thanks!!
Oh you haven’t lived!!! Only joking! But, jazzing edamame up with hot oil is one of my favourite snacks! Way better than popcorn on movie night!!! 🙂 Ros
